Record ID: SWYOR-690AA0
Object type: WEIGHT
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: North Yorkshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
An iron object, possibly a weight, of Post Medieval to modern date, AD 1800 - 1950. It is rectangular with a chamfered edge so the top face is smaller than the lower face.  There are circular marks on both faces, but it is difficult to know if these are intentional or a product of corrosion. Dimensions: length 20.5mm, width 12.6mm, height 3.7mm, weight 5.48g. The object is similar to a domino, but is smaller and does not appear to have a central division line. It could be a weight to add mass such as those to adjust a clock.
