A copper-alloy cup weight of post-medieval or modern date. It is part of a nested set and is circular in shape with sides which flare evenly upwards from the base to the rim. There is a stamp in the centre of the weight which is the letter W within two circular borders. Above this is a heart shape which bisects the outer border. At the botton is a four petalled flower. The object has a dark green patina. These types of weights were used for weighing gold and silver in the form of coin, small objects or as scrap metal or other precious materials (Saunders 2001, 125).
