The surfaces have an even light grey patina. Such weights were used over a long period of time, possibly as fishing weights, amongst other applications. The weight is shallow cup-shape and has three symbols stamped into the face. The symbols are crowned C at 9 o'clock (C for Charles) a sword at 12 o'clock for St Paul's and the City of London and a ewer at 4 o'clock for the London Founder's Company. There is also a single circular indentation in the centre of the upper face. The reverse is flat and undecorated and shows file marks.

The object is broadly oval disc-shaped with one slightly convex, raised, uneven surface that appears to be decorated with shallowly incised grooves forming a cross. The other surface is concave and has a slightly raised edge. There may be elements of moulded decoration on the surface but this is very worn. The object measures 23.8mm in length, 20.5mm in width, is a maximum of 4.8mm thick and weighs 15.23 grams.
