A circular weight, worn and unmarked. It is circular in plan and has a raised circular edge on the upper side. There are assay marks but they make little sense, one is 7.8 and the other possibly 7.B, and may be part of the users personal cipher. The central, circular assay mark is too denuded to interpret. It is plain on the back. A weight of 10.85g would suggest that it was to represent 1/3oz. The weight has brown patina. Similar but not identical weights with a raised border are described in Withers (2011,41)  and there are examples of thi…

A complete lead-alloy trade weight. The weight is disc shape with a raised rim that is bevelled on the inside. The surface is slightly concave and has a series of finely turned concentric grooves. There are two stamp marks to the face, but they are hard to make out. One looks to be the remnants of a portcullis, and the other the remnants of a monarch's insignia. The entire object has a relatively smooth white-grey patina. From its appearance and markings compared with other contemporary trade weights, it seems likely that it is a Georgian trade weight, but to the exact reign,…

It is undecorated and has a pale white / brown patina.  This may have been a weight or have had some other use. A supplementary or multiple load would enhance either the chance of achieving a hit, or…
