A fragment of Gin Trap tongue probably of post-medieval to early modern date c.AD 16th-19th century date,. Description: The fragment survives as part of a triangular body plate and a blunt cylindrical toggle/attachment point. The triangular boddy fragment has incised diagonal decoration. The fragment is patinated light green. Measurements: 16.71mm long, 16.13mm wide, 4.3mm thick and 3.22g in weight. Part of an iron lever with a forked end (broken). The lever has a slightly curved handle with a knobbed end. Near the forked end of the handle are two semi-circular plates with a circular rivet through them for attachment to another object. The lever appears to have pivoted on this attachment. There is a short section of straight handle after this point before the lever forms a square, branched terminal. The ends of this appear to be broken.
