An incomplete copper-alloy military belt plate of Roman date, c.AD. 150 – 300.
The object comprises two ovate panels joined by a narrowed integral D-shape sectioned shaft. A similar shaft extends from the opposite edge of each panel, one terminating is a transverse ridge, the other in a worn break. The panels have raised edges creating recessed cells which retain blue enamel. The reverse is flat and undecorated.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The object is 22.1mm long, 13mm wide, 2.7mm thick and weighs 2.5g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman military hooked or looped horse harness fitting from a strap junction dating to c. AD 40-120. The object has a narrow rectangular plate with two rivet holes, both infilled with rusted iron. The rear end of the plate has two notches providing a decorative trefoil. From the front end projects an incomplete hook with a triangular cross section. This originally may have connected to a rear attachment plate.

A complete copper-alloy military harness strap slide of Roman date, c.AD 100 – 300.
The object consists of a front plate comprising two globular hemispherical terminals joined by a waisted central rectangular panel, and a loop. The front plate is D-shaped in section with a concave interior on the reverse. Projecting from the reverse is an integral rectangular loop extending along the long axis. This loop is rectangular in section.

The object comprised a rectangular plate with a large rectangular recess within a double banded linear border. The recess has a raised cross formed of two transecting curvilinear lines extending between opposing corners. The resulting sub-triangular cells retain traces of red enamel. An integral rectangular loop extends along the short axis of the reverse of the plate.

The object comprised a D-sectioned front plate with moulded reels meeting as a triple banded central semi-circular boss. The outer ends of the reels terminate in rounded bosses. An integral rectangular loop extends along the long axis of the reverse of the front plate.

The rectangular strap loop is complete but blocked with corrosion. Two prominent grooves decorate the narrowed middle. A complete copper-alloy strap slide of Roman date, AD 43 - 200. The object is a pointed ovate in plan with a central raised circular boss within a deep circumferential recess. Raised lenticular mouldings extend along both pointed terminals.
The reverse of the strap slide is concave and undecorated with an integral rectangular attachment loop projecting from either end.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is in good condition. The strap slide is 26.6mm long, 16.5mm wide, 17.2mm thick (with loop) and weighs 9.3g.

A complete copper alloy Strap Fitting (Strap Slide), of Roman date (AD 43-200). The strap fitting is a pointed oval in plan with raised lenticular mouldings extending along both pointed terminals. The central panel comprises a central circular element divided into four sub-triangular recessed cells set within a circumferential recess. Two of the cells which are opposite one another retain red enamel. The back of the object is flat and undecorated and retains a complete, integral rectangular attachment loop.

An extremely corroded Iron Age - early Medieval copper alloy looped fitting, c.150 BC - AD 1000.
The object comprises a ring with internal diameter of 7mm, from one side of which projects a stump of an arm, shank or other attachment. The opposite side of the ring is heavily worn on the inner surface suggesting a use under tension. Possibly part of a strap fitting such as bit link or strap link and of date.

A cast copper alloy Roman Military harness junction fitting or phalera connector dating from the first to third centuries AD. The strap fitting has, at one end, a subrectangular flange with rivet hole for attaching the fitting to a leather strap; the reverse is recessed with a small retaining flange to take the strap. In front of this is a rounded ridged collar, 10.9mm in diameter. The front end of the fitting comprises a curved and tapering arm with rounded cross section which has a distinctive T-shaped terminal, 12.6mm wide.
