A single plate from a Medieval copper alloy strap end dating from AD 1250 - 1450. The plate is sub-rectangular with one end angled to a point. There is a copper alloy rivet in the pointed end. Scars on the reverse may be from side strips or a forked spacer. Measurements are; length 16.9mm, width 9.2mm, thickness 1.3mm and weight 0.71g. Compare examples in Egan and Pritchard (1991).

A copper alloy fragment of a Medieval strap end, probably dating from AD 1200 - 1400. It could be one plate of a strap end, or the central spacer of a three part strap end. It is sub-rectangular, angled at one end with a small central knop at the apex. There is a rivet hole near the shaped end.  Measurements are; length 13.9mm, width 11.0mm,thickness 0.9mm and weight 0.61g.

A complete Early Medieval copper alloy strap end of Class B Type 2, dating from c. AD 750-1100. The strap end is sub triangular in shape, the split attachment end is at the wider end. The strap end narrows gradually to a rounded point. The terminal point is worn, but originally would have been zoomorphic in design. Running up the face of the strap end is incised decoration, the strap end is worn so it is unclear what it depicts.  At the split attachment end are two circular perforations on both plates, on the front plate one of these perforations is worn and broken.…

A Medieval copper-alloy strap end, dating to AD 1300-1450. It consists of two of the sub-rectangular plates, held together by two rivets. Both the plates are sub-rectangular with the lower narrow end (the strap end) narrowing into a shallow rounded point, from the apex of which projects a rounded knop. The opposing end is a straight edge. Below this in each of the corners are two rivet holes securing cylindrical rivets. An incomplete late Medieval cast copper-alloy composite strap-end, dating to c.1300-1450. Comprising of a facetted lozenge-knop terminal with integral spacer and two separate plates (half of the spacer and half of one of the plates is missing at the attachment end). Secured at either end of the plates with rivets. The surface displays a patchy green patina. Length 25.3mm, width 7.2mm, thickness 3.3mm, weight 2.6g. Similar examples on this database at: PUBLIC-5959B6, WILT-32CEFB and IOW-766D7F and see, Egan & Pritchard (2002) p.143-4, no.676 passim.

There are the remains of a pattern on one face, it is too worn to discern but may include a fleur de lys and dots. Copper alloy cast strap end of medieval date (c.AD 1200-1400). Cast broad tongue-shaped strap end that is flat and undecorated on both faces. The tip projects slightly and is rectangular in plan. There is an attachment hole at the butt or inner end and a rivet on each side of this. Silver strap end. A small cast rectangular box chape with a flat lug at its outer end and a rectangular field with the letter S in Gothic style viewed against a crudely cross-hatched ground on its display side – the ground having been executed as embellishment of the cast letter. The back plate is plain. A rivet of diameter 3mm and length 4.3mm passes through the box and attaches it to a textile strap which remains preserved within the chape and is now of a dull buff tint. An incomplete copper alloy strap end, dating to the Early Medieval period, circa AD 800 - 900. The strap end triangular in plan. The upper edge of the strap has a curved end with two rivet holes; one broken. The plate is divided into three sections by two raised transverse ridges. The upper section is decorated but worn. Th body of the object narrows to a stylised animal head at the tip. The head includes a rounded snout and indentations for the eyes.

Complete copper-alloy Roman strap end. With a elongated oval body a terminal knop and horizontal attachment end with a central integral loop set at right angles to the plane of the strap end. The front face is decorated with annulets arranged in lines hoirzontally and vertically. Most similar in attachment device to a Tortworth strap end (Henry 2022, 84-85), but also reminiscent in shape to Amphora shaped strap ends. An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy composite strap end, dating to c.AD 1300 - 1400. The crescentic forked spacer survives. The crescentic bars are complete and rectangular in section, tapering towards the terminals. At the centre of the crescent is a projecting acorn shaped knop with a rectangular collar.  Length:33.1 mm Width: 24.6 mm Weight: 3.81 g Egan and Pritchard (1991) illustrates similar forked spacers and strap ends on page 141 from London.

The object is a thin rectangular plate and is incomplete at one end. The face is decoratd with punched dots around the border. Two rivet holes are present, one positioned in the centre, the other at the complete end. The reverse is undecorated and presents the convex impressions of the punched decoration on the face.
