The object is rectangular in section, it is lenticular in profile and in plan sub-triangular, tapering to a blunt point. Copper alloy possible soldering iron. Cast square section bar with a lightly waisted mid-part and expanded at either end. One, taken to be the working end, tapers to a four-sided point. The other end is curved around an aperture of diameter 8.9mm, part of a broken socket. This identification is offered following the lead of a commentator on another object of comparable form; this reporter would welcome better-informed comment on this object. It is four sided, broadly rectangular from the front and back, and lozengiform from the sides. It measures 52.30mm in height, 17.65mm wide and 15.35mm thick, and weighs 54.62g. The front and rear faces taper towards each other to meet at the top. There is a 14 x 11mm perforation through the front and back near the top of the weight. The front and rear faces also taper more sharply at the bottom.

One end is sub-square in section and tapers from a maximum width and thickness at the middle of the object to a blunt, flat point. The centre has curved edges, one more curved than the other when viewed from the top, and has a vertical oval hole at its centre. A second oval hole is broken across, and the other end is missing.
