A Post-Medieval copper-alloy Nuremberg jetton, dating to AD 1600-1700. Description: The jetton is circular in plan and in a good condition. The token is a mid-green in colour. Obverse: The bust of Mercury, facing right, within a fleur-de-lys and pellets border. Reverse: An imperial orb within a trefoil tressure, bordered by rosettes. Measurements: Diameter: 22 mm and Weight: 1.95 g. Discussion: This jetton was minted in Nuremberg and is not currently attributed to a specific master. A copper alloy Post Medieval jetton of uncertain date (c. AD 1550-1700). Uncertain type and issue. The jetton has been folded in half, with the inside being full of compacted soil. Obverse description: Uncertain. Obverse inscription: Illegible. Reverse description: Orb within a three-arched tressure with a pair of annulets outside each cusp. Around the outside edge, there is a rosette at 12 o'clock with chevron-shaped pairs of leaves leading towards it. Length: 21.19mm. Width: 10.81mm. Thickness: 0.25mm. Weight: 0.84g. Die axis: Uncertain.

An incomplete copper alloy post medieval jetton of uncertain issue, dating c.1550-1750AD. This is a Rose/Orb type from the Nuremburg mint. The obverse has alternating crowns and lis arranged around a central 5-petalled rose. Most of the legend is missing, damaged or illegible but appears to be in a Gothic script. The reverse has the Imperial Orb within a treasure of three arches. There are three pairs of annulets around the tressure. The initial mark may be a crown. The legend is likely to be fictitious. Diameter: 22.8mm; thickness: 0.7mm; weight: 1.3g
