Iron fireplace mount. Cast iron fragment; the finder kindly suggests possibly a fragment from a cast iron fire surround. The strongly convex casting appears to represent the muzzle of a lion with protruding nose and jowls, strongly arched brows, and with the mane represented as a lower border fringing the mask. There is a low rectangular rebate on the back. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.
