Copper alloy possible lid, perhaps from a pill box or cosmetic container. Pressed metal concavo-convex object whose lower sides are lightly scalloped. A stamped floral design adorns the convex surface. A stepped lug at one end may have engaged a hinged fastening. Suggested date: Modern, 1850-1900. Length: 19.6mm, Width: 15.5mm, Thickness: 0.9mm, Weight: 2.20gms.

Copper alloy and organic residue. Cosmetic Compact. Discoid container of pressed metal with a hinged lid. A stamped legend on the lid reads TANGEE / ROUGE. On the base of the container appears the stamped maker's legend [--]OF[--]TANGEE Ltd. / LONDON / MADE IN ENGLAND. A hard buff coloured residue may represent the contents of the tin. Suggested date: Modern, circa 1940. Diameter: 28mm, Height: 10.7mm, Thickness (wall): 0.33mm, Weight: 6.72gms.
