An incomplete copper alloy nummus of the House of Constantine, dating to c. AD 337-40 (Reece Period 17), GLORIA EXERCITVS, Two soldiers and one standard (inscribed with Chi-Rho). Mint of Lyon. RIC VIII, p, 178, cf nos.7 and 9. The obverse style of the coin is quite reasonable but the mintmark, Chi-Rho // • PLG is not recorded in RIC, the dot being absent. Furthermore, the PLG is out of alignment. Therefore, it is quite likely that this coin is a contemporary copy.
