An Early Medieval Arabic coin: a fragment of a silver dirham probably dating from about AD 750 - 950. Ruler and mint uncertain. Coins of this type are often found with other objects which suggest an Early Medieval trading site, so this fragment could be ancient loss. Dirhams can also be an indicator of a Viking Great Army camp site. The fragment is 15.1mm long, 14mm wide, 0.9mm thick and 0.81g. Compare LIN-563E1C and SWYOR-1AE8AA.
