Silver coin. Medieval penny of Edward II (1307-1327), probably class 10cf5 issue of 1307-1310, neatly rolled into a tube of external diameter 5.8mm with an overlapping seam, obverse outwards. Though Edward II came to a sudden end there is no evidence for any cult related to his unpleasant death, so retention of this altered coin as a souvenir of a martyred monarch seems unlikely.
