Cast lead cog model for use in producing another cog in a harder metal, using the lost wax method of casting. There is evidence of the remains of wax on the flat surface of one side of the model. At one edge of the circumference of the model, there is the remains of a sprue, which stands proud from its ridged edge, and is a result of the casting process. There is also a thin casting seam which runs parallel to the edge of the model, at its widest point, and perpendicular to the ridges in relief. Incomplete cast copper alloy cog or moving part from a machine like a seed distributor for an agricultural machine. The 'I'-shaped notches on the 'teeth' look machine made and the cog has been cast very precisely, which suggests that it is modern in its manufacture.
