A zoomorphic copper alloy terret of late post medieval date. The item consists of a cast circular pillar shaped body with protruding collars at the top and base. The top collar is topped by the head of the animal, which is probably a bear. From the top collar is a downward protruding hook which would have guided the reins. Below the lower collar is a now partly broken screw-threaded fixing. The terret would be have been used to retain and guide the reins of a horse drawn vehicle.

Copper alloy fly terret. Cast mount with a tapered screw-threaded shank below an expanded collar, a waisted mid point with central rib in low relief, and a sub-spherical terminal. It is suggested this object would be used to retain the reins of a light vehicle which would be looped around the central constriction and prevented from slipping off by the expanded ball head. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1750-1850.

Copper alloy fly terret. Cast fitting for the management of reins on a horse drawn carriage, comprising a sub-sperical terminal with a downward protruding hook or bar - presumably to loop the reins around; a round section shank of diameter 10mm; and an expanded basal collar above a rectangular section over the top of a screw-threaded lower extent, now mostly lost. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1650-1750.

Post Medieval cast copper alloy object dating from c1700 to c1900 AD. Probably a stylised acorn socketed finial from a coach or carriage fitting. It is quite badly corroded. Similar to HESH-3501B5 on the database.

A double-sided openwork object, probably a formerly circular fly terret pendant. Centrally is a lion passant gardant whose details are picked out on both sides with short grooves. Both eyes are formed by sunken pits.
