An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch of Prestatyn type. Due to the rearward facing hook and the circular pierced plates on the wings, with decorated upper bow humped over a broad crossbar,sprung in  the Polden manner. The brooch is missing most of the catch plate, foot, spring and pin. The head and most of the bow have survived. The bow has a sub rectangular cross-section, somewhat akin to the brooch 1649 on plate 54 (Mackreth 2011 pg 57, plate 54). The head is 11.52mm long, 22.55mm wide, and 13.55mm thick.
