An incomplete, copper alloy, probably Roman, pin from a brooch, AD.43-700. The object comprises the shank and most of the hinge for the pin. The hinge is a flattened oval terminal of the pin pierced by a single hole. The plate has broken removing a quarter of the oval all the way to the hole. The pin otherwise appears complete. Hinged brooches occur from the Roman period into the Medieval, the size of this pin suggests it is likely Roman or Early Medieval in date.
