Silver-gilt badge in the form of a recessed roundel with two concentric circles forming a deep frame, the edges of which are dentillated. The centre of the badge is engraved with a crowned 'I' between two Tudor roses on a hatched background. The reverse of the badge is soldered with a strip of metal which has been broken off at the point where it doubles back forming a looped pin. A complete medieval (later 14th to early 15th century) pewter livery badge in the form of a lion (or possibly a leopard), depicted passant gardant, left, in the manner of those displayed on the royal arms of England. The beast has its front right paw upraised to the fore, its head turned facing and its tail curled under the legs and then up, with a trefoil tip vertical above its spine.
