Copper alloy and iron possible armour scale. A small sub-rectangular sheet metal plate, possibly shield-shaped with three corners clipped, with a large [3.3mm] square iron rivet pressed from behind where it is represented by a sand-encrusted mass of rust. This might be from Roman scale armour, though fabric reinforced with studs or scales was also used in medieval times. An incomplete iron probable chest plate or chest guard of Modern date (c. AD 1900-1950). The object is roughly oval in plan and, curves on the outer face and concave on the reverse. The edges are chipped and there is a patch of iron corrosion in the centre of the outer face. The upper section has broken away from the whole but is still present. The object measures 410mm in length, 355mm in width, and 6.57mm in thickness.

Possible copper-alloy Roman lobate hinged fitting from a lorica segmentata armour, dating to the first to early third centuries AD. This artefact is formed of a sub-rectangular plate, with a hinge, that then narrows to a point with a circular lobe on each side. There are traces of possible rivet holes (one each on the circular lobes and possibly three on the sub-rectangular plate). This artefact has a broadly dark green to brown corrosion patina. A fragment of copper-alloy scale armour, known as 'lorica squamata' dating to the second or third century AD. The scale is fragmentary but is flat and tongue-shaped. At the rectangular end of the plate, there are two circular perforations. One has a circular-section loop of wire threaded through it. Parallel with this perforation, there was clearly a further perforation but the scale is damaged. The scale measures 33mm in length, 20mm in width and 1mm in thickness and weighs ??g. Although damaged, this scale appears to be of von Groller's Type III.

A row of five riveted copper-alloy armour scales (lorica squamata) dating to the Roman period. Each scale comprises a flat tongue shaped plate with four circular perforations, two on each lengthwise margin. Each plate is riveted to the next with a loop of rectangular section copper-alloy wire inserted through the perforations. An individual scale measures 30mm in length, 17mm in width and less than 1mm thick. Together the armour scales have a width of 67mm and weighs 3.8 grams. These scales are of von Groller's Type V.

The scales are flat, tongue-shaped plates with eight perforations on each, two each on the lengthwise edges and four at the rectangular end of each scale. Copper alloy wire rivets secure the scales together. Collectively they measure 37mm in length, 25mm in width and weigh 1.4 grams. These scales are of von Groller's Type VIII.

A post medieval iron plate armour dating to the 16th century. This is a sheet of iron cut into a rectangular shape with angled corners. The plate is slightly curved in profile. There are four rivets arranged along the longer mid line, the rivets have domed heads. One corner is broken and missing.
