Two socketed axes (Cat. Nos. 1-2, below) were found together in the same metal-detector pit at approximate depths of 0.15-0.23m (6-9 inches) below the ground surface. A further socketed axe and a casting jet (Cat. Nos. 3 & 7, below) were also later recovered from the same metal detector pit, at approximate depths of 0.25-0.30m (10-12 inches). A copper alloy pin dating of late Roman dating (4th Century)

The stem of the pin is circular in cross section; it projects straight down below the head, where it has been bent in a U-shape and bends upwards to extend above the head, tapering to the end where it terminates in a break. An incomplete Roman Samian ware wine cup of Dragendorff form 33 and dating to the 1st-2nd century AD. The base and around 40% of the side and rim remains. The rim is 115mm in diameter, The sides flare from a break in angle at the base and have no decoration aside from a single incised band at the mid point. The base ring is 43.3mm in diameter with a recessed interior. The fabric is light pinkish-orange with a reddish-brown slip. The centre of the base on the internal surface has the maker's stamp GIAMILIVS (second image) in a rectangular cartouche.

An incomplete Roman pipeclay figurine of Venus, dating to AD 100-250. The figurine is 118.7mm high and depicts the goddess stood completely nude while holding a garment that drapes down beside her left leg, and rests on the base next to the left foot (now missing). The deity is depicted with an elabourate hairstyle, with braids around each side of the head and gathered behind at the nape of the neck; other braids are visible cascading down to the shoulders at the sides and back. Circumstances of discovery and reporting
A hoard of 37 Roman silver coins was discovered by David Henry Moss and Tom Taylor on 20th-21st December 2018 and 19th January 2019 in Caerhun Community, Conwy.
The coins were found while metal detecting on cultivated land that was under pasture at the time. The findspot (a National Grid Reference) of the coins and addresses of interested parties are given on the Treasure Receipt Form. The coins were discovered scattered in shallow rocky ploughsoil at depths of approximately 3-4 inches.

Introduction
