A Medieval silver coin; a Anglo-Gallic Demi-sterling (halfpenny) of Edward III of England (AD 1327 - 1377) as Duke of Aquitaine, dating from AD 1330 - 1344. Mint of Aquitaine. The denomination is a halfpenny equivalent. Measurements are; diameter 14.7mm, thickness 0.5mm and weight 0.53g. Compare KENT-EDF8E5 which cites Spink No.8047 and Chautard (1871, 174 & Pl.xx, no. 5). No. 276. Other examples are SF-D4F064, LEIC-BF23D4 and DUR-FF7C60.

A clipped imitation of a medieval gold quarter noble of Edward III (1327-1377). The obverse shows annulets on the cusps of the tressure and a lis in the centre of the reverse suggesting the prototype was a quarter noble of Edward III's Treaty Period, the annulets seen in the 'Transitional Series' of 1361-3 (North 1224), the lis seen in the Treaty Series of 1363-9 (North 1243-4). Medieval gold quarter noble of Edward III (1327-1377), Fourth Coinage (Pre-Treaty Period), Series G type Ga/Gd mule, dating AD1356-61 (North 1189/1190), mint: London. Ref: North 1991: 52. The coin is slightly chipped around parts of the edge and is lightly clipped removing the tops of some lettering and creates an irreularly shaped edge to parts of the coin. The reverse includes an odd spelling, reading EXALTABITVR IN GALhORI instead of the standard EXALTABITVR IN GLORIA, a rarely seen variation (Potter 1963: 128).
