A copper alloy Medieval official seal matrix dating from AD 1200 - 1400. It is of pointed oval form (vessica shaped) and has a central rib on the reverse, with a pieced loop at one end. The loop is 10mm long, 2.5mm wide and the hole is 3.5mm diameter. The central design is a building with a central tower, flanked by a tower at each side (probably a church building), above an ashlar bridge of three pointed arches over wavy lines to represent water. A damaged silver hammered coin; a long cross penny of Edward II (1307-1327), Class 6 or 7, Withers Type 8 or 9 dating from about AD 1312-1318. The coin has odd differential patination on the obverse, and this face is very worn. It is possible that the coin was once bent. On the reverse, recent scrape marks obscure most of the legend, perhaps caused by a journey through an agricultural machine. The surviving part of the legend is ":VI[L L]AB ERE [WYC']" rendered retrograde. This identifies the coin as a product of the Berwick mint. See North number 1082 on page 39 and Withers and Withe…

A copper alloy openwork incomplete scabbard chape, of Early Medieval date, about AD 900 - 1000. The object is an almost flat piece of openwork metal, with two fairly complete edges and the other sides broken. The angle of the two unbroken sides suggests that the object could have been pentagonal or lozenge shaped. The front is decorated; it is moulded with an anthropomorphic head motif (probably originally central but now near the broken right hand edge), surrounded by apparently interlaced ribbon work forming an arc over the top of the head and filling the space to the sides. An openwork, copper alloy slightly arched plate brooch, possibly of Iron Age date, about 300 BC - 100 BC. It is probably a Hull and Hawkes type 2Bb brooch. Part of an Early Medieval hanging bowl dating from about AD 500 - 700. Part of the rim and upper half survives in several pieces, and two of the escutcheons and their attached annular loops. The curvature of the largest surviving piece suggests a rim diameter of about 200mm.
