A silver Roman Republican denarius, almost certainly of C. Servilius, minted in Rome in 136 BC. The obverse depicts the helmeted head of Roma facing right, with the legend ROMA below. The reverse depicts the Dioscuri riding away from one another wth spears reversed. The reverse legend is almost illegible, but the faint letters VEI can just be discerned in exergue, forming part of what would have read C. SERVEILI. M.F. Diameter 18.66, thickness 1.74, weight 3.4 grams. (A similar example is listed in Crawford's 'Roman Republican Coinage', 1974, pp. 270, ref. 239).
