A medieval silver cut halfpenny of William I (1066-87), Two sceptres type (North 844; BMC iv) dating to AD 1072-1074, moneyer: Authbjorn/Outhbeorn, mint: York. Ref: North 1994: 191, 196. The coin is worn especially around the outer edge which is also lightly chipped. The cutting of the coin is diagonally across the reverse of the coin rather than following the cross arms.

A silver cut half-penny of William I (AD 1066-1087). Profile / cross fleury type (North N 839), struck early in William's reign, c. AD 1066-1068. As the coin is incomplete it is not possible to ascertain which mint or moneyer the coin the struck by, however the moneyer could be Brihtwi, Brihtword, Brihtwold or Brihtwine. These moneyers struck at several mints across the country.
