A fragment of an early medieval silver penny of Edgar or Aethelred II dating to c.AD 973-1010. Early reform issue.The obverse appears to show some drapery and the pellet is part of the ties behind a diadem with the bust facing right. The reverse is illegible. Moneyer and mint indeterminable.
