This is a hammered silver groat of Edward IV from the second reign 1471-83. The obverse has the bust facing with a mintmark of a pierced cross with pellet, that further defines the date to 1477-80. The reverse has the long cross pattée with three pellets to each inner quadrant and CIVITAS LONDON. The coin is clipped and has what looks to be to be fire damage, evidenced by the distortion to a sector of the reverse surface.
