An Irish silver penny of Edward IV (second reign, 1471-83), measuring c.13mm in diameter and weighing 0.43g (6.6gn). The dies are very crudely cut and the edges are clipped so legends are all but lost. Obverse: Crowned bust facing, sun and rose alternating at crown and neck ]ARDxDI[xG ] Reverse: Long cross, small rose in centre, rose and two suns in angles alternating with sun and two roses Mint: Dublin, c.1478-83 Reference: Seaby 6393
