A fragment of a medieval silver coin, probably a penny of Edward IV, first or second reign, dating from AD 1461 - 1483, York mint, rose initial mark. It is 13.3mm long, 9.7mm wide and 0.5mm thick.  It weighs 0.3g. North number 1594 or 1647 - 1656. Only about a quarter of the coin survives and the edges are broken. There is a saltire cross stop at the end of the obverse legend.
