Silver penny of Edward IV (?), second reign 1471-1483, mint York. If this is the case then the coin would have been struck under the authority of Archbishop Thomas Rotherham (1480-1483). The inscription has been almost entirely clipped away and the identification is based solely on the marks by the breast and estimated size and style of the coin.
