The coin is pierced by a circular hole with ragged edges, from the obverse (near the chin) to the reverse.

A silver penny of Edward IV (second reign, 1471-1483). Reverse: CIVI/[TAS/EBO]/RACI; long cross dividing legend, quatrefoil in centre of the cross.
No visible marks by the bust and so it is probably a sede vacant issue of the second reign. The initial mark looks like a rose, dating to 1473-1475.
