A medieval silver coin: a halfpenny probably of Edward IV, second reign (1471 - 1483), struck at London. The coin has a diameter of 12.9mm and is 0.5mm thick. Probably Withers type 2h with an annulet initial mark and an open crown. However, the coin is clipped, making the legend very difficult to read, so the identification cannot be certain. See page 31 in Halfpennies and Farthings; Edward IV - Henry VII, type 2h. North number 1667 probably.

A Medieval silver coin; probably a halfpenny of Edward IV, 2nd Reign (1471 - 1483), Durham mint but unlike the published examples. The coin is the right size for a half penny, but has the reverse legend of a penny, and has the additional feature of a V on the reverse in the CIVI quarter. The portrait is most similar to Withers type 4 (minted under Bishop Dudley), but the V to the left of the neck is not at all visible. The initial mark appears to be circular, probably a rose. A medieval silver coin: a probably halfpenny probably of Edward IV, second reign (1471 - 1483). It is probably Canterbury or Durham mint, North number 1668 or 1669. It is 11.2mm in diameter and 0.5mm thick. It weighs 0.27gm.
