Medieval coin: an Irish hammered silver penny, cut down so that all of the legend is removed, and only the area inside the inner circle is preserved. The penny is an Irish issue of Edward IV's 'light cross-and-pellets' coinage, minted during his second reign, between 1473 and 1478, at Dublin, Waterford, Drogheda, Trim, or Cork. Such coins are very frequently clipped, and rarely recovered intact. Spink(Scotland and Ireland): 6360-6387A. D: 12.7mm Th:0.62mm Mass 0.3g.
