A silver Medieval coin; a penny of Edward IV, 2nd reign (AD 1471 - 1483), issued under Archbishop Lawrence Booth at York (AD 1476 - 1480), or the following Sede Vacante (1480) if there is no quatrefoil at the centre of the reverse. B and key by the neck. The reverse is illegible. See North number 1652 - 1653, Class XXI 1 or XXI 3. The coin is 15.9mm in diameter, 1.5mm thick in its bent state and weighs 0.67g.  The body of the coin is 0.5mm thick.

Compare North (1991) page 95, number 1666. This example does not have a D on the reverse, but this is a known type. The coin is clipped and the legend is missing. 14.6mm diameter, 0.6mm thick and 0.67g. Obverse: legend missing. Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown. D to left of bust, V to right of bust Reverse: Legend missing. Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant

A medieval silver coin: a clipped penny of Edward IV, second reign (1471-1483), mint unidentified, but probably Durham. As with many of these coins it was probably struck on a small flan and subsequent clipping has removed much of the remaining legend. It is 13.8mm in diameter and 0.5mm thick. It weighs 0.44gm. Reference: North, volume 2, numbers 1658-1666.

The coin is worn and damaged, and also clipped, with approximately 1/3 of the coin missing, making a certain identification impossible. There is probably an E to the left of the neck. See North number 1648. Length: 14.3mm; Width: 11mm; Thickness: 1.4mm; Weight: 0.49g

The G below the bust stands for Germyn Lynch, the mint master. The coin has a diameter of 25.1mm and is 0.5mm thick. It weighs 1.9g.
