A late Medieval silver coin; a groat probably of Edward IV, dating from his second reign, AD 1471-1483. Initial mark: annulet. Mint of London. See North 1991 Vol II, p. 93, no. 1631, Most of the legend has been removed by clipping from the edge of the flan.  Dimensions; Diameter 22.3mm, Thickness 0.6mm and weight 2.1g.

A silver medieval coin; a groat of Edward IV (1461 – 1483), light “cross and pellets” coinage (1473 -1478), minted in Dubline with a sun mintmark. The G below the bust stands for Germyn Lynch, the mint master. The coin has a diameter of 25.1mm and is 0.5mm thick. It weighs 1.9g. For reference see Spink’s “Coins of Scotland, Ireland and the Islands” (2003), number 6330.
