Incomplete and very heavily clipped long cross penny of Edward IV second reign. The coin has been clipped back to the inner circle on the reverse and only the part-legend EDWA [...] can be seen on the obverse. The crowned bust on the obverse is flanked at the neck by the initials D/V. This identifies the coin as a local Durham issue attributable to Bishop William Dudley. There is no 'D' at the centre of the reverse long cross. North 1666. Circa AD1476-1483.
