Obverse: hENRIC[ ]EX; Crowned bust facing with sceptre Reverse: + (cross pattée) ALA[ ]N·LVNDE; Voided short cross with a quatrefoil in each quadrant Diameter: 19.0mm. Weight: 0.94g. DA=12:2. The coin was folded through 180° when found. Only the reverse was visible. North, J. J. 1994. English Hammered Coinage, Volume I, Early Anglo Saxon to Henry III, c. 600-1272. Spink & Son, London.
