An incomplete, Medieval silver halfpenny or farthing dating from reign of Edward I to Edward III (AD 1272-1377). Much of the rim of the coin has been clipped, from around 12 o'clock to 10 o'clock on the obverse, resulting in most of the inscription being lost. Obverse description: Crowned bust facing forwards. Obverse inscription: E[DWARDVS] [R]EX A. Reverse description: Long cross pattee with three pellets in each angle. Reverse inscription: CIVI/[TAS]/[LON][D]ON. Length: 10.74mm. Width: 9.43mm. Thickness: 0.53mm. Die axis: 10.

A Medieval silver coin; a farthing of Edward I to Henry VIII, dating from AD 1272 - 1547. Both sides are illegible and the coin has been bent into an acutely angled S shape. In its current configuration it is 10.1mm long, 4.4mm wide and 0.3mm thick. It weighs 0.3g. Farthings of this size and mass were issued under Edward I to Henry VIII, though it is more likely to be from the earlier end of the range.
