A slight cracked silver early medieval penny of Cnut (1016-1035), Quatrefoil type dating to c.AD 1017-1023. Minted by Frethi (FREDI on the coin) at London. North (1994) No. 781, BMC viii, Hild.E. Possibly exhibits die damage in first quarter of the reverse. Measurements: 18.6mm in diameter and 0.81g in weight.

A highly worn and fragmentary later early-medieval cut quarter penny (Farthing), uncertain ruler but likely dating from the reign of Cnut starting c.1016 to the end of the reign of Edward the Confessor (c. 1066). Possibly Cnut (r.1016-1035) pointed helmet type North 787 or 789 (c.1024-1030). Coin probably minted at Canterbury.
