Medieval short cross cut halfpenny, possibly of Henry II or Richard I, but Henry II to Henry III cannot be ruled out. 18mm in diameter, 0.5mm thick and 0.72 grams in weight. The coin is very worn but the obverse shows the left hand side of the kings portrait with the sceptre just visible. Little of the inscription can be made out but it should read HENRICUS REX. The reverse shows the edge of the short cross and part of the inscription which reads N or HOL. The coin has a dark patina and an uneven surface.
