A medieval silver penny of Henry I (1100-35), full face/ cross fleury type dating to c.1117 (North 866; BMC x), mint and moneyer uncertain. Ref: Norrth 1994: 197. The coin has been badly doublestruck on both sides, with the coin spinning in the die between strikes, resulting in parts of both obverse and reverse visible on both sides, especially in regard of the inscriptions. The mint may be Southwark or Sudbury given the visible letters SV. On the obverse this may read SVB (Sudbury) although it is uncertain. The coin is also chipped and cracked.

A silver Medieval penny of Henry I (1100-35), of North's 'full face/ cross fleury' type (N 866, BMC x) and dating to 1117. Minted by Saric at Shaftesbury. The coin has a small snick in the edge (at 3 o'clock on the obverse) and the reverse is slightly off-struck. It is bent convexly between 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock on the obverse.
