Much of the edge and legends are missing. The coin is worn and bent. Mint unknown. Compare North (1994) number 871 on page 198. The remaining portion is 16.6mm long, 14.9mm wide and 0.8mm thick. The coin is poorly struck on an irregular flan with much of the inscription (especially on the reverse) illegible. The are two lines of perpendicular cracks running across the coin, on emanating from the official 'snick' into the flan made at the mint. The coin has a diameter of 17.75mm, a thickness (bent) of 2.45mm, and weighs 1.26g.

The date is circa 1123 AD.

The reverse of the coin has been gilded and pierced by six small circular holes of which four are in line. Three holes retain rivets, which are presumably also of silver. A cut and incomplete halfpenny of Henry I, 1100-1135 AD One other example on PAS is NARC-730F72 Martin Allen writes: This is a coin of the Colchester moneyer Ælfsi, from the same dies as a coin in the Fitzwilliam Museum (SCBI 30, 747) reading +IELFSIONCOLE[ ]. The COLE is visible on this find, which I have recorded as EMC 2010.0397.

Silver, penny, Henry I (1100-35), profile/cross fleury type (c.1102-3), Mint: Wilton (Wilts), Moneyer: Sewine, North 1994: p.196 N 858. Confirmed by Martin Allen of the Fitzwilliam Museum, who states that the inscriptions have been obscured by double-striking, but this is identifiable as a coin of the Wilton moneyer Sewine, reading +SEPINE ON PITV. This moneyer is not listed in North, but there is another Henry I type 2 penny of Sewine at the Fitzwilliam Museum, ex Conte (see EMC 1200.0703).
