Silver coin fragment. Probably a penny of an indeterminate Late Saxon, Norman or Plantagenet ruler, probably issue of 1016-1180; nearly two thirds of flan lost. The suggested reading of the obverse would reduce this range to the reign of Henry I (1100-1135) onwards.
Obverse description: probably bust enclosed within strongly defined outer circle.

Reverse description: short cross with expanded ends to its arms enclosed by pelleted inner circle. Legend in outer circle, lettering indistinct.

Silver coin. Possibly a cut farthing of Henry I (1100-1135), a suggestion offered on the basis of apparent drapery detail on the obverse, comprising a doubled curvilinear line with about five small pellets aligned (cf. Spink no. 1268 obverse).
