Early Medieval coin, silver penny fragment possibly of Aethelstan (924-939) and certainly dating from around this period up to 1066. Less than one quarter of the coin survives with the reverse appearing to be of the type showing a small cross at the centre of a circle and the obverse possibly being of similar design or possibly containing a simple portrait. The present condition of the coin makes further observations and classification difficult.
