It is hard to be certain when dealing with a cut halfpenny and working from published illustrations, but this coin appears to be from the same dies as a London specimen in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (Sylloge of Coins of the British Isles …

A silver penny of Aethelred II, First Hand type, N766, 978-985 AD. The coin has been bent to produce an 'S'-shaped profile but shows no sign of plough damage. Martin Allen has added the coin to EMC with the number 2010.0222, and comments that this is the first coin of the moneyer Aelfgar in the First Hand type in EMC, although there are four in SCBI (three of them from this reverse die with the mint name LVNDONI).
