Silver coin. Short cross penny of John (1199-1216), possibly class 5c issue of 1204-1209, possibly moneyer Rauf/Raulf at London mint. The finder kindly suggests this to be of Henry III (1216-1272) as an issue of 1216-1247. Brown-stained, worn; broken during examination by the FLO.
Obverse description: facing bust with sceptre left, hair of two neat curls and pellets to either side.
