A Medieval silver cut halfpenny of William I (AD 1066-1087), London mint, the moneyer is either Godric, Godwine, or Godinc (the moneyer's name is incomplete). Initial mark: cross. This coin is a Two Stars type, AD1490-1500 (North 1991: 191, ref: 845). Dimensions: diameter: 19.12mm; width: 10.14weight: 0.61g.
Obverse: PILLEM REX ANI, Crowned and diademed bust facing with star to each side.
Reverse: , Cross botonnée over a quadrilateral with incurved sides and pellets at corners, annulet in centre.

A Medieval silver penny of William I 'the Conqueror' (1066-1087), 'cross and trefoils' type (c.AD1080-3' BMC VII; North 847), moneyer: Saewine, mint: Exeter. Ref: North 1994: 192.
The coin is worn and there is a large patch of corrosion on the obverse from the centre across to the edge at c.3 o'clock.
Obverse description: Bust right, crowned and diademed, in front, a sceptre.
Obverse inscription: [+]ǷILL[E]LM [...R]EX AN. Ƿ= runic letter wen (W)
Reverse description: Cross pattée with annulet in centre; in each angle, a voided trefoil.

Silver cut halfpenny of William I. Two sceptres type. Circa AD1072-1074. North 844. BMC iv. Obv; Bust facing crowned and diademed, to left a sceptre patee to right a sceptre botonne. Reverse; Cross fleurry with annulet in centre over saltire botonne. The coin has fractured across the end post-discovery and has been repaired with glue.

An incomplete hammered silver penny of William I (1066-1087). (North 843)
Obverse shows bust facing, crowned and diademed within canopy of two columns. Inscription is not clear. The first part is missing. II [..x] is just legible.
The reverse is a double quadrilateral with incurved sides, fleury at the angles and annulet in the centre, surrounded by a pelleted border.
The remaining inscription is INE O N LVND. The moneyer is probably Wulfwine of London.
The coin is 19mm in diameter and weighs 0.9g.

A silver penny of William I type 6 (Sword type) dating to the early-mid 1080s mint and moneyer unknown rev legend. Looks like it reads NLNI and the obverse reads as +[P]ILLELM [RE]X. The diameter is 18mm and the weight 0.93g
The find is a silver early medieval coin would not usually be classed as treasure. However the coin has been pierced and upon checking if this should be a treasure case with a piercing as a secondary making the coin into an object John Naylor National Finds Advisor for Medieval coins to PAS has stated that as pre-1180 pierced coin it needs to be reported

The obverse legend is unsual, with extra lettering and the seeming ligation of the M and R. However there is a trace of the original upright of the R under the second upright of the M suggesting they were over struck rather than deliberately ligated, either on the die in error, or on the coin.
