A medieval silver penny of William I (1066-1087), 'Two stars' type (North 845; BMC v) dating to c.AD 1074-1077, moneyer and mint unclear (blundered inscription). Ref: North 1994: 191. The coin has a crack from the edge between 11 and 12 o'clock to about the centre of the flan. The mint and moneyer for the coin are uncertain with the inscription difficult to read and quite garbled.
