A hammered silver penny of Edward IV of ‘anonymous issue’. Obverse: Crown within tressure of arches. Reverse: Long cross with three pellets in each quadrant. Legend reads: ‘CIVI/TAS / DVB/LIN’. The coin appears to be an Irish penny of Edward IV, known as the anonymous issue, because of the lack of name on the obverse. It seems to be a rare coin in England and Wales and is therfore marked as noteworthy.

A hammered silver long cross penny from Edward IV Irish issue, c. 1465 AD. The obverse with the facing portrait busts and pellet to each side, the legend is missing due in part, to an off centre striking and perhaps 'trimming'. The reverse has the long cross with three pellets to each quadrant in the 'English style'. The legend is CIVI/TAS, with die errors and misspellings, not uncommon on the Irish issue coins.
