Obverse: crowned bust facing within inner circle; no other elements of the design survive owing to clipping.

The coin is clipped so that only parts of the legends survive and it has since broken into three pieces. The reverse has a plain cross so the closest match in Spink (2002) on page 135, is no.6374.

A clipped Irish Medieval silver penny of Edward IV (1461-1483), Light "Cross and Pellets" coinage dating from 1472-c. 1478. Minted at Waterford or possibly Dublin. See Spink's Coins of Scotland, Ireland and the Islands number 6382.
Obverse: +EDWARD [DI GR DNS HYBE], Crowned bust facing, crosses by neck.
Reverse: CIVI/[TAS/...], Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant, quatrefoil at centre of cross.
Diameter: 14.2mm. Weight: 0.63g. DA=12:10-11.

Silver Irish penny of Edward IV (1461-1483), Light "Cross and Pellets" coinage dating from 1473-1478, Waterford mint. There are rosettes by the neck of the bust and on either side of the crown on the obverse and a quatrefoil in the centre of the cross on the reverse. The coin is clipped so that only part of the reverse legend survives.
See Spink's Coins of Scotland, Ireland and the Islands page 135, nos.6379A & 6382, but these have annulets and crosses by the neck, so this coin seems to be a new type for the Waterford mint. Finder has conferred with Jasper Burns who suggests that…
